The biggest disappointment puberty brought was the non-manifestation of psychokinetic powers.

Of course we’re still being told we can do anything with the power of desire and thought.

i’m still on stage three of that grief cycle. my mom likes to remind me that i thought i could control the weather by singing when i was really little. LIKE I COULD EVER FORGET, MOM. it’s not a funny story, i can’t fucking sing.
later on, at playtime late into primary school, on occasions when no one wanted to talk to me because i didn’t want to talk to anyone.. beside the mirroring handprints of victorian child laborers which the headmaster, mr broadbent(he was a lovely man) felt he had to point out to us as the centerpiece during biannual ritual tours of the concrete playground; i used to spread my arms a little bit and close my eyes and try to control the wind through my movements. head in the clouds around me. Mostly my efforts now go into inefficiently summoning my muse in the hopes that everything i make will be perfect. hahahaha i could put a drop of amaretto in this orange juice and that might help me sleep. mrs dorothy parker, everybody.
